The "Volunteers and Contributors" page lists all those members who make a specific and current commitment to the club to provide their expertise in a variety of different ways, or who have made an significant contribution to the club in the past. If you feel that your contribution has not been fully recognised please contact Andy Sanderson. Listed below are some of the jobs that do not currently (as far as I know) have someone who takes general responsibility for them - please volunteer by contacting any member of the committee. Experience not required, just the willingness to contribute.
- Reorganising the key safes and cataloguing and securely tagging all club keys
- Reorganising the magazines and throwing out all old (non-gliding) magazines and newspapers
- Renovating and repainting the petrol bowser
- Regularly checking the contents and refilling the petrol bowser
- Ensuring an unbroken supply of logsheets, flying lists, indemnity forms, cash envelopes, trial lesson certificates etc. for the launch control vehicle
- Keeping the washrooms reasonably clean and ensuring a supply of towels
- Helping to clear out and keep clean the vehicle hangar
- Helping to clear out and keep clean the glider hangar
- Helping to clear out and keep clean the briefing room
- Helping to clear out and keep clean the clubhouse
- Helping to clear out and keep clean the kitchen
- Taking responsibility for checking and ensuring glider canopy cleanliness
- Taking responsibility for inspecting the buggies and overseeing maintenance
- Taking responsibility for inspecting the tractor and overseeing maintenance
- Taking responsibility for inspecting the Land Rover and overseeing maintenance
- Reorganising and restocking the club shop
- Keeping an eye on the condition of clubhouse furniture and replacing as necessary
- Repainting the double cross and reference point concrete blocks
- Emptying the revolting cigarette butt sandpits
- Painting the double-cross, compass swinging marks, and reference point
